James C. Revels, also lovingly known by his given Sanskrit name Ambhoj, is a poet, singer, counselor and teacher of mindfulness and presence. A profound spiritual experience initiated his transformation during early college years, prompting him to complete graduate studies in existential and humanistic philosophy and psychology. James then began drawing deeply from the wisdom traditions of the East. Having spent seven years living in meditation centers, including three years in India, James has been influenced by many Eastern mystics, most notably Osho, Meher Baba, Ramana Maharshi, J. Krishnamurti and Gurdjieff. He also considers the work of Karlfried Durckheim and A.H. Almaas to have been deeply influential in his life. He has lived in Asheville, North Carolina since 1995.
